ALEJANDRO SANZ LEADS THE LIST OF 2019 LATIN GRAMMY NOMINATIONS WITH 8 NOMINATIONS
Alejandro Sanz has nabbed the highest number of nominations in the 20th edition of the Latin GRAMMY Awards, with a total of 8, standing out in the 3 main categories, including Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Record of the Year, where two of his tracks are in contention, “No Tengo Nada” (“I Have Nothing”) and “Mi Favorita Persona” (“My Favorite Person”).
Sanz has been nominated in each category as follows: Record of the Year for “No Tengo Nada” (“I Have Nothing”) and “Mi Favorita Persona” (“My Favorite Person”), Album of the Year for #ELDISCO, Song of the Year for “No Tengo Nada” (“I Have Nothing”) and “Mi Favorita Persona” (“My Favorite Person”), Best Album Contemporary Pop Vocal for #ELDISCO, Best Pop Song for “Mi Favorita Persona” (“My Favorite Person”) and Best Long Music Video for the documentary film “ Lo que fui es lo que soy” (“What I was is what I am”).
With eight nominations under his belt for 2019, Alejandro Sanz has become the artist with the most nominations in the history of the Latin GRAMMY Awards, which this year celebrates its twentieth anniversary.
The singer received the news of his nominations in Denver, Colorado, where he is set to take the stage tonight as part of the successful American stretch of his tour, #LAGIRA, which has been packing stadiums with sold-out shows since it kicked off on August 28th, and will continue through the US and Mexico until November 30th.
The winners will be announced on November 14th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Alejandro Sanz also announced today the premiere date of the video for “El Trato” (“The Deal”), next Friday at 00:00 (GMT). The song is a track on the multi-nominated album #ELDISCO and was filmed at various locations throughout Asturias in Spain.
With more than 25 million records sold throughout his career, Alejandro Sanz is the Spanish artist with the highest number of GRAMMY Awards (20 Latin GRAMMY Awards and 3 GRAMMY Awards), as well as countless other renowned international awards. He has also been honored by the Latin Recording Academy as the 2017 Person of the Year, in recognition of his career and his important philanthropic contributions.
